Keeping your home cool in the summer and warm in the winter is an important part of everyone’s lives. To make sure your systems are working when you need them most, be sure to follow these routine maintenance tips:
Quarterly Maintenance Tips
- Be sure to change your furnace filter at least quarterly. Dust, pet dander and other things can build up over time, blocking the airflow and making your system work harder and less efficiently. Keeping your filters unclogged is a quick, inexpensive way to improve performance and increase your system’s longevity.
- Check for debris. Make sure your outdoor unit is free from grass, other vegetation, and any other obstructions.
- Clean the Coils on your system. Outside units can become dirty and clogged, just like your inside filter.
- Clean Blowers. Indoor blowers can become dirty and impede airflow and overall system performance.
If you are unsure about how to perform these maintenance steps, consult a licensed HVAC professional.
